The Wedding

This picture is the only surviving photo of my grandparents' wedding, officiated by my great-grandfather, Fred L. Crawford (a main character in Dogwood Alley). I was looking at the picture today in an effort to write a description of my grandmother's dress, and re-discovered the love poem my grandfather had written to her that day in May, 1956.

The third, and final, book of the Dogwood Alley series, Joy in the Morning, will be released soon, and will tell the story--part truth, part fiction--of the day these two lovebirds married, and the effects their union had on the family.
